Travel suppliers relax terms and conditions for Coronavirus (COVID-19) temporarily

It’s a time of uncertainty if you have upcoming travel plans already booked, or have intentions to travel and want to book but concerns related to coronavirus are making decisions challenging.

Many of our travel suppliers are relaxing their terms and conditions and offering temporary plans to help alleviate concerns with booking and rebooking with options to help you book with confidence.

All the main tropical vacation package tour providers are offering flexible booking terms for the month of March:

WestJet Vacations

WestJet is waiving the change fee for all new air-only bookings and WestJet Vacations bookings  made from March 3 to March 17, 2020 for travel before June 24, 2020. At this time, there are no travel restrictions to any of the destinations we fly. However, due to evolving travel concerns, we want your clients to continue to book with confidence with a relaxed change fee should they need to alter their travel plans. Terms and conditions: 

Waived change fee applicable for WestJet air-only bookings.
New bookings only.
Applicable on all fare bundles including Basic. 
For bookings made from March 3 to March 17, 2020.
Travel must be completed before June 24, 2020.
Change must be completed more than 14 days before departure.
Difference in fare may apply.
Regular change fees apply for changes made within 14 days before departure.
Standard cancellation guidelines apply to all fares.

Air Canada Vacations

Book with confidence by March 31 to receive CareFlex travel protection plan for free to make changes to your booking worry-free. Change your booking, transfer your package or cancel with a full refund on vacation packages to Mexico, the Caribbean, Las Vegas, Hawaii, and Europe tours (tours/pre-bundled packages).

Transat Holidays

Due to the uncertainty around ongoing COVID-19 outbreaks worldwide, Transat has implemented a new flexibility policy for its flights and packages to the south.
The new policy lets travellers change their travel dates, destination or hotel at no additional charge. This policy applies to new bookings for flights on all routes offered by Air Transat and for south packages made between Mar. 4 and Mar. 31, 2020 for travel between now and Oct. 31, 2020.
Travellers can change their booking up to 24 hours before departure. Note that travel must be completed within 12 months of the original travel date and that if the price for the new booking is higher, customers must pay the difference.The policy excludes group bookings. Cancellation requests are subject to the terms and conditions.

Sunwing Vacations

For new bookings between March 4 and March 19, 2020, Sunwing will waive any administration fees associated with the first change.
This applies to all new bookings with a departure from no up to and including June 24, 2020.
Any change must be requested at least 14 days prior to travel or normal conditions will apply.
Regular conditions will apply should the change made result in a lower or higher price.
Cancellation fees still apply.
The flexible booking arrangements apply to all Sunwing bookings including flight and hotel only reservations together with both cruise and vacation packages.
Sunwing encourages travellers to purchase the Worry Free Cancellation Waiver starting from just $50 per person providing 100% cancellation coverage up until just 3 hours before departure for any reason, along with the option to make a change to the booking within 14 days of departure with no penalty.

Royal Caribbean Cruises, Celebrity Cruise Line

Royal Caribbean unveiled a new temporary policy amidst the uncertainty of COVID-19 that will make cruise bookings easier with their new “Cruise with Confidence” policy. Launching March 6, it allows guests to cancel up to two days before they sail.
The new Cruise with Confidence policy allows guests to cancel any cruise departing on-or-before July 31st, 2020, up to 48 hours before departure, and receive a Future Cruise Credit that can be applied to any future cruise departing in 2020 or 2021.
The new policy extends across the company’s fleet of brands, including Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises, Azamara, and Silversea. Guests who have already booked a cruise for departure, or who book one in the future (within the time period stated), will be able to cancel up to two days before they sail, and “will receive a full credit for their fare, usable on any future sailing of the guest’s choice in 2020 or 2021.”

Norwegian Cruise Line

Norwegian Cruise Line is allowing its guests who book a sailing through Sept. 30, 2020 to cancel their trip up to 48-hours beforehand and receive a 100% future cruise credit with its ‘Peace of Mind’ cancellation policyThe policy is for all new guests as well as those already booked on voyages beginning March 10, 2020 

Disney Cruise Line

Currently, we have not made any changes to our European itineraries, though we are closely following the situation in Italy. We continue to monitor global developments and follow the guidance of public health authorities and ports of call regarding who they will allow to disembark based on travel history and health screenings. We will notify guests should itinerary changes be necessary.

Guests currently booked on our European sailings through our July 25 departure can change their reservation up until the day before embarkation and receive a 100% cruise credit to be used for future sailing within 15 months of their original sail date by calling us at 1-866-325-2112 or 407-566-3510 or contacting their travel agent. The credit is non-refundable and standard prevailing rates will apply.

Alternatively, Guests currently booked on our July 13, July 18 and July 25, 2020, European sailings may delay their final payment to 30 days prior to their sailing.

Disney Magic sailings through May 8, 2020, and Disney Dream, Disney Fantasy and Disney Wonder Sailings through May 31, 2020

All Guests scheduled to depart on the Disney Magic between now and May 8, 2020, and the Disney Dream, Disney Fantasy and Disney Wonder between now and May 31, 2020, can change their reservation up until the day before embarkation and receive a 100% cruise credit to be used for a future sailing within 12 months of their original sail date by calling us at 1-866-325-2112 or 407-566-3510 or contacting their travel agent. The credit is non-refundable and standard prevailing rates will apply.
