If you do have upcoming travel plans, then we highly recommend registering with the Government of Canada before you leave. This is a free service that allows the Government of Canada to notify you in case of an emergency abroad or a personal emergency at home. The service also enables you to receive important information before or during a natural disaster or civil unrest.
Travel insurance
Do you have trip cancellation insurance coverage? Each credit card is different and each plan is different. If you did not purchase trip cancellation insurance at time of booking, you will need to check into all available sources to see if you have insurance to recoup non-refundable costs should you decide to change your travel plans. Most plans do not cover “fear” so please review plans carefully. If you purchased the Premium Protection Plan through us, then it does include a “Cancel for any Reason” benefit where you can recoup 80% of your non-refundable costs if you change your mind and no longer want to travel.
